A new entity has been born within Co.N.A.P.I. National that will do scientific research on the economic and social aspects of all productive realities nationwide.
It will be Dr. Antonio Zizza to head the CENTER FOR STUDIES AND RESEARCH to lead the center, which will look at the development of certain phenomena closely related to the country’s economy with a strong impact on social, political and institutional relations.
“The purpose of the Study and Research Center,” Zizza explains, “concerns the execution of studies, analyses, monitoring and interpretations related to the socio-economic system in the context of national production. Particular attention is paid to the sectors of handicrafts and small businesses, including the branches of the tertiary sector, agriculture, industry, construction, private health care, logistics and transport, as well as, in general, to all those sectors falling within the Confederation’s scope of national interest.”
“In addition,” the Director continues, “the activities of the Study Center present a remarkable variety, ranging from the drafting of periodic studies on issues of particular relevance to the ambitious goal, which I aim to achieve as early as the first year, of producing an annual Report.
With the aim of implementing these initiatives, aimed primarily at providing support to the Confederation, public and private institutions, it is also planned to propose agreements with Professional Schools, Universities, Foundations, Trade Union Unions and other entities, both public and private.”
The Study and Research Center, is composed of the President of Co.N.A.P.I. Nazionale, Dr. Basilio Minichiello, the Director in the person of Antonio Zizza, and a number of people (varying from 4 to 8) of high human, academic and/or professional profile who are periodically called upon to collaborate in the Center’s activities.
“Among the members of what has been called the “Technical-Scientific Committee,” I would like to point out,” adds Dr. Zizza, “there will be a good representation of women; then we have an entrepreneur and/or artisan and, finally, any employed person whose company is represented by Co.N.A.P.I. Nazionale. The goal is to provide a service that is closer to the concrete needs of the people as the listening and contribution of each person in the working community assumes particular importance.”
For each survey conducted, collaboration is offered, including through special agreements made over time, with experts from both academic and professional backgrounds, including university professors and researchers.
The director of the Study and Research Center wished to thank Co.N.A.P.I. National President Dr. Basilio Minichiello for his decisive support in promoting and, at present, entrusting Zizza with the leadership of the Study and Research Center with the determination to intercept, through surveys that will be conducted ‘in the field,’ the needs of the working community in order to make them available to the Confederation, the institutions and society as a whole.
Finally in this course, special attention will be paid to the handicraft and small business sectors, which have always been considered–by the Director–“vital” in the development of a society. Their ubiquity,” Zizza continued, “makes it possible to effectively reach those sometimes impoverished areas that might otherwise end up being neglected. In this sense, all that is the sector of local handicrafts and micro-entrepreneurship certainly represents a viable way to generate employment, habitability of the territory, increased birth rate, progress, attention and proximity to a human, free and dignified development.”
Finally, leaving a personal testimony, Zizza concluded by saying that “Giorgio La Pira, a visionary ‘master’ who inspired my formative years, considered enterprise an ‘essential cell’ of the body, life and mission of a city. Based on this assumption and, supported by all those who will collaborate with us, the Study and Research Center aims precisely to foster a healthy culture of work, craftsmanship and entrepreneurship, enhancing their social, creative and personal dimensions.”
