Basilio Minichiello – Founder and President of the National Co.N.A.P.I.
Born in 1966 in Melito Irpino (Avellino), where he still resides, Basilio Minichiello is the founder and president of the National Confederation of Artisans and Small Businessmen (Co.N.A.P.I. Nazionale).
Its strong ties to its homeland have influenced its strategic and entrepreneurial vision, focused on enhancing territories, local economies and human capital. The Confederation’s operational headquarters are located in Passo di Mirabella Eclano, in the province of Avellino, a testament to its intent to root change and development in places where tradition and innovation meet.
Coming from a family of small farmers, Minichiello assimilated fundamental values such as humility, solidarity and a sense of community from an early age, which are still the ethical basis of his association activities today.
After graduating in Accountancy in 1985, he began his professional career at Imco Italia S.p.A., acquiring administrative, management and commercial skills. Since 1992 he has worked as an external consultant for several trade organizations, specializing mainly in the agricultural and tobacco sectors. During these years he consolidates a deep knowledge of the production and union dynamics of the internal areas of Southern Italy.
President of the Italian Association of Bakers, Pastry Chefs and Related (A.P.I.), he promoted, in the midst of globalization, a digital trade platform to increase the competitiveness of small Italian producers in foreign markets.
In 2010, he officially founded Co.N.A.P.I. Nazionale, with the goal of building a modern, concrete and pluralistic representation for Italian artisans and small businessmen. In the same year he obtained a degree in Tourism Science, to develop innovative projects in the field of territorial promotion and sustainable development.
Under his leadership, the Confederation obtained ministerial recognition as the “most representative” employers’ organization in 2010 and extended its action to more than 34 National Collective Labor Agreements, promoting an increasingly widespread network of services and tools to support businesses.
Since May 13, 2025, Basilio Minichiello has officially held an interest in the Chamber of Deputies, carrying out an institutional activity aimed at protecting the widespread interests of the artisan and small business entrepreneurial world. In this context, he promotes actions of confrontation with institutions, encourages listening to the needs of the territories and supports policies that benefit competitiveness, regulatory simplification and employment.
Today, he leads the Confederation to new challenges, consolidating the principle of territorial subsidiarity and orienting business representation toward an inclusive, sustainable model centered on the dignity of the individual.
