On the occasion of Women’s Day, which falls on March 8, our National Co.N.A.P.I. Study and Research Center has produced a highly relevant study, titled “Women, Employment and Enterprise: The Value of Female Genius in Enterprise Care.”
The study highlighted how, globally, despite multiple policies aimed at promoting gender equality, several women continue to experience employment inequalities, characterized by wages that are not always adequate and treatment that is not always fair. It also found excessive work-related stress and anxiety in women.
However, among the companies interviewed by our Study Center, there was a special focus on female workers, recognizing their special propensity for creativity, organizational skills and management roles. Significantly, many women hold management roles within Co.N.A.P.I.-affiliated companies without giving up their private lives. For us at Co.N.A.P.I. National, these companies are a source of pride. Having companies, whether large or small, throughout the country that promote gender equality and recognize the essential value of women in the workplace is a great benefit.
I would also like to point out that there are five women and five men in the offices of our operational headquarters, located at Mirabella Eclano Pass, not to mention that more than 70 percent of our consultants are female. For the National Confederation of Artisans and Small Businessmen, women have always played a central role in organizational and management profiles. Therefore, our Confederation continually gender equality in all institutional and corporate venues, encouraging management and leadership functions within companies.
Finally, we encourage female entrepreneurship, which is considered essential for the development of handicrafts, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as the territory itself, as emphasized in our study and daily confirmed by our long experience. In addition to the tax benefits associated with hiring women, there are a number of national and regional measures that incentivize funding for pink entrepreneurship and the empowerment of women in work settings.
For these reasons, as also found in the study, certifications such as gender equality can be promoted among our companies, with the aim of better incentivizing to fair treatment and better enhancement of women’s creativity.
In conclusion, I wish a happy March 8 to all women working in crafts, small businesses and the world of work in general. I am aware that without their fundamental contribution, we could not imagine either a better present or a better future.
